A Fighting Chance

Bien Louis was diagnosed with Biliary Atresia. It is a congenital disease of the liver wherein his bile duct between the liver and small intestine is absent.

He was supposed to undergo Kasai Procedure but upon the biopsy procedure performed by his doctor, they have decided that the only effective treatment for his condition is liver transplantation.

The doctor advised that Bien be operated the soonest time possible. This procedure will cost around P4,000,000 ($95,000).

Through this website, twitter, and facebook a lot of people got to know the story of Bien and his family's appeal for help. They were able to raise funds.

They were scheduled to fly to Taiwan on the 26th of August but sadly, Bien passed away 23rd of August.
